Chapter 36
In order to inhale, you must first exhale. In order to soften something, you must first make it hard. In order to knock something down, you must first raise it up. If you want to shrink something, you must first allow it to expand. If you want to get rid of something, you must first allow it to exist. If you want to take something, you must first allow it to be given. In order to empty something, you must first allow it to be filled. This is called the subtle perception of the way things are. The soft and weak overcomes the hard and strong. The slow overcomes the fast. Conceal your tools and let your workings be a mystery. The joy is in the working, and the results will speak for themselves.
