| John wins in straight sets, putting the season title out of reach for Don as the weather doesn't look good for the last week of the season. The first set and much of the second set were hard fought, but John did a better job of hitting through the wind. Unauthorized court maintenance was performed after the match (sweeping up whirlygigs, leaves and walnuts). (Commentary by Don) |

| Don wins after a month's layoff to bad weather and work. John was dominant in the first, but faltered mentally, attempting a short serve on break point at 4-4, resulting in a double fault. John broke back, got broke again, and broke back again before Don took the second in a tiebreaker. It was all Don in the third as John averted VB and Hawaiian by breaking at 4-0. | Don wins the first set again but falls just short of closing the deal in two sets. Happily, both sets were hard fought long sets, and John had some sort of hot date or business appointment (on Sunday afternoon!) so that he couldn't play a third set, giving Don his first win in a long while. | Don won the first set on his way to a virtual bagel, but couldn't quite close it in the second as both players struggled with harsh sun and glare on a bright day. | Despite John's numerous stab volley winners on tough passing shots Don managed to get enough by John to take the first set and stay in the second and third (Don is still too skinny to have the endurance to play deep into a touch third set).
