2011 Winter Season Tennis Scores
(winter solstice to spring equinox )
These scores really don't have anything to
do with Spectrum's business - they are the scores of
friendly matches played between Don and John in an attempt
to stay reasonably fit. The season winner earns a lunch at
the local Chinese buffet.
Winter 2011 matches: John 4 Don 2
3/19 John 3-6 6-1
6-2 John wakes up in the second set and rolls on to
another season victory with the wind at his back.
3/17 John 6-2 6-3 John
re-crushes Don after a visiting his coach for a few hitting
sessions.
3/3 Don 6-2 6-3
After running two truckloads of wood in the morning to warm
up, Don crushes John in two sets, winning 5 straight games
from 1-3 in the second.
2/23 Don 5-7 6-4
7-6(7-5) Don saved triple match point, serving at 4-5,
0-40 in the third set.
2/11 John 6-1 6-2
John was serving big despite another long layoff
1/6 John 7-6(7-2)
6-3 1st match after a long layoff
